Buying a quarter share means you get a quarter of the whole animal: steaks, roasts, ground beef, and soup bones, etc. A quarter beef typically yields 100-130 lbs of take-home meat. It fits in a standard fridge freezer if you're dedicated, but a chest freezer is better.

Whole Lambs

Price: $8.00/lb of hanging weight + processing

Lamb is milder and more tender than you buy in the store. A whole lamb is manageable—usually 35-50 lbs of meat. It fits easily in a standard kitchen freezer.
